We stand at the precipice of a new era of cancer research. The pace of progress has increased dramatically over the past few years. Here at West Cancer Center, we are making strides—leaps, in fact—to ensure that we are providing the next level for cancer care in Memphis. We are hiring scientists. We are recruiting the best oncologists in the country. We are fighting the war on cancer—but there is much more work to do.

At West, we are both scientists and care providers; we realize that research is the heart of a comprehensive cancer center, and our benefactors are the foundation of West Cancer Center research and advancements. Generous philanthropy allows our scientists to effectively translate lab discoveries into effective treatment options for cancer patients not only here in Memphis, but around the world. Patient Story: Mark

Mark is trained to protect lives, but he never thought he would have to fight for his own.

At 30 years old, Mark was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Both he and his wife were shocked and overwhelmed. With two small children and another on the way, his family not only had to fight his cancer—they had to beat it. On the day his third child was born, Mark was in the hospital. The photo at left shows Mark just days after they became a family of five.
