How Kool Is Raising $3,000 for Le Bonheur? SO KOOL!
Le Bonheur is very near and dear to my heart. On Oct. 15, I will take to the streets of East Memphis for the annual Pumpkin Run 5K.
This year, I'm in it for three specific reasons:
1. My dear friend and colleague, Joanie Taylor. Joanie is the Pumpkin Run race director and works tirelessly in our Foundation to raise funds and awareness for Le Bonheur. Two years ago this autumn, Joanie lost her 1-year-old son, Luke. In the face of such grief and loss, Joanie shows up every day and fights for kids and families in need of hope and healing. I'm in it for Joanie, and I'm in it for Luke.
2. I recently celebrated the one-year anniversary in my new role at Le Bonheur. I am thrilled beyond measure to be working directly with our volunteers and family partners. This is truly a dream job for me, and I am inspired each and every day by these individuals who give freely of their time and energy to make Le Bonheur an even better place for the children and families receiving care here. I'm in it for the heroes who offer healing, help and hope.
3. I am setting my sights higher than ever this year and hope to raise $3,000 for Le Bonheur. With your help, I know we can get there and make a real difference for kids and families receiving care at Le Bonheur. Last year's Kool-Aid man race experience was such a smashing success that I am pledging, once again, to complete the Pumpkin Run dressed as Kool-Aid Man if (and WHEN!) I reach my fundraising goal. OH, YEAH!
